How To Change Your Wallpaper

Instructions are for Windows 95/98 Users. There are different instructions for Netscape and Internet Explorer Version 4 or higher or lower. These instructions are not for mac users.

Not sure what browser you are using?

Why look at the same dull, drab background (the picture behind the icons) when you can look at a basket photo or basket theme graphic. The possibilities are endless. It is easier than changing the wallpaper in your living room and you can always change it back with a few clicks of the mouse. No scraper and wallpaper paste required.

First, you will need to find a picture you want as the background. If you have a scanner, scan a picture of the latest basket you have woven or a closeup shot of a weave pattern. Many programs that you use with your scanner have an option to automatically change your wallpaper.

On Your Computer

Search for the word, "wallpaper" in the help index and follow the instructions. If your software does not have the option to automatically change your wallpaper, all you have to do is scan your image and save it at a resolution of 640x480, 800x600, or 1024x768, depending on what resolution you are using as your setting.

If you don't have a scanner or any good pictures, there are many great pictures available to download on the Internet. Don't let the word, download scare you. Pictures do not contain viruses (it is technically possible but very unlikely) and all you are doing, is copying the picture to your hard drive. Some do come in the .zip format. If they do, the sites usually will tell you how to unzip the programs and install them. There is a chance of viruses hiding in zip files.

Once you have found the picture that you would like to use, follow these steps:

  • Place your mouse over the image that you want to use.
  • Right click on your mouse.
  • Select the option, "Set As Wallpaper" and your browser will do the changes for you.
  • If the option on your pop up is greyed out, you will have to "Turn Off The Frame" on the very top of your screen.

Alternate instructions for older browsers. If you do not have the option, "Set as Wallpaper" then just follow these easy steps.
