Basketry guilds, associations and organizations within the United States of America.

American Gourd Society
The Society publishes a quarterly magazine, The Gourd, with news on gourd events, articles on gardening, craft tips and more.

Ann Arbor Area Weavers Guild
Meetings generally held the 1st Monday evening from 6:30-9 and 3rd Saturday morning from 9-noon at Cherilyn Braun Basketweaving in Dexter, MI.

Arkansas Basketweavers Guild (USA-AR)
Guild serves members in Northwest AR, OK, MO. They meet monthly and publish a bi-monthly newsletter.

Association of Michigan Basketmakers (USA-MI)
Individual, Cottage and Business memberships are available to this organization. An annual convention is held.

Basket Artisans of Arizona (USA-AZ)
Meets the second Saturday of each month at the Desert Botanical Garden, 1201 North Galvin Parkway, Phoenix, Arizona. Contact Nancy Jacobs at (623) 322-2880.

Basketweavers Guild of Georgia (USA-GA)
Meets the 2nd Thursday and Last Sunday of each month except July, August and December in the Atlanta and North Georgia area.

Basket Weavers Guild of Oklahoma (USA-OK)
Meet every other month at the Cowboy Hall of Fame. Newsletter. They hold a basket sale each year.

Bay Area Basketmakers (USA-CA)
Meetings are held in Berkeley, Oakland, or Castro Valley, CA. Programs and exchange of ideas on a broad variety of topics relating to basket making are featured each month. Visitors are welcome. Alternate site.

California Gourd Society (USA-CA)
Organization dedicated to the interests of gourd artists and growers. Members receive a quarterly newsletter.

California Indian Basketweavers Association (USA-CA)
The purpose of the CIBA is to preserve, promote & perpetuate California Indian basketweaving traditions.

Carolina Gourd Page (USA-NC)
Membership organization. Offers information on sources, growing, cleaning and crafting with gourds.

Central Pennsylvania Basket Weaver's Guild (USA-PA)
Members from Central Pennsylvania meet regularly for workshops and programs. A quarterly newsletter is published.

Central Texas Basket Guild (USA-TX)
Group newly formed in 2002 meets bi-monthly to weave together in central Texas.

Chattahootchee Handweavers Guild (USA-GA)
Non-profit educational organization in GA dedicated to promoting the art and craft of weaving. Members include both novice and experienced weavers, spinners, dyers, basket makers, braiders and other fiber artisans.

Clear Lake Basketweavers Guild (USA-TX)
Clear Lake Basket Weavers Guild (CLBWG) exists to encourage and perpetuate the art and skills of basket weaving in Houston, Galveston and surrounding areas of Texas.

Columbia Basin Basketry Guild (USA-OR)
Workshops, gathering events, study groups, monthly meetings at Multnomah Art Center in Portland, Oregon. Read about Columbia Basin Basketry Guild activities - Museum Basketry Collection Being Digitized - A three member curatorial team from Columbia Basin Basketry Guild including Lynn Beard, Kaye Van Valkenburg and Jane Town spent three days going over some of the more than 1,500 baskets collected by the University of Oregon Museum of Natural and Cultural History to help create a new kind of digital artifact library.

Crossroads Weavers Guild (USA-MI)
Meets twice monthly at the Aurelius Township Hall (south of Mason, MI). Monthly newsletter and annual event. Membership open to all. 

Deer Creek Basketry Guild (USA-MD)
This group meets monthly in Maryland. Membership open to all level weavers.

Derby Basket Guild (USA-KY)
Based in Louisville, Kentucky, this guild meets six times a year, distributes a  newsletter six times a year on months when there is no meeting and offers a lending library of books, patterns and molds.

Desert Fiber Arts (USA-WA)
Affiliated with the Association of Northwest Weavers' Guilds and the Handweavers Guild of America. Workshops, library, monthly newsletter.

Fiberarts Guild of Pittsburg (USA-PA)
The Fiberarts Guild of Pittsburgh is a nonprofit, member-supported organization that promotes the appreciation of fiber art and fosters its creative development and continuation. Sponsor of a biennial exhibition of contemporary fiber art.

Fingerlakes Basketweavers Guild (USA-NY)
Basketry guild serves members in New York State. Meet monthly. Offers an annual event and a monthly newsletter.

Foothill Gourders (USA-CA)
El Dorado Gourd Patch of the California Gourd Society. Members include several premiere pine needle basket weavers. Meetings held in Placerville, CA.

Georgia Basketry Association (USA - GA)
Annual weekend conference held in early February in the Atlanta area.

Georgia Gourd Society (USA-GA)
The Georgia Gourd Society is a membership organization interested in gourd culture, uses, history and/or crafting. Seeds for sale, quarterly newsletter.

Gourd Artists Guild
Features a gourd list serve, workshop listings, gourd encyclopedia, sources, featured artists and more.

Great Basin Basketmakers (USA-NV)
GBB meets in the Reno, Nevada area. The guild offers a variety of workshops led by their members and visiting teachers.

Handweavers Guild of America, Inc.
International nonprofit member organization of weavers, spinners, dyers, basketweavers, patrons and educators.

Heart Of Ohio Basketweavers Guild (USA-OH)
Basketry guild serving basketmakers in the state of Ohio. Offers regular meetings with planned projects, monthly newsletter and annual reed dyeing day.

Heritage Basketry Guild Of Dayton (USA-OH)
This basketry guild draws its members from Southwest Ohio. They offer monthly meetings and a members newsletter.

Indiana Basketmakers Association (USA-IN)
This organization is no longer in existence.

Iowa Basketmakers Guild (USA-IA)
Serves the Tri-state area of Iowa, Illinois & Wisconsin. Members gather monthly in Dubuque, IA.

Iowa Basket Weavers Guild (USA-IA)
The guild exists to "exchange ideas, give moral support to other basket makers, share experiences and to develop a greater appreciation for all basketmakers".

Kentucky Basket Association (USA-KY)
Member organization dedicated to perpetuating the art of basketry through educating members and fostering interest in weaving, emphasizing the historic value and heritage of basketry and promoting excellence in basket materials and design. 

Kentucky Gourd Society (USA-KY)
IOTA Chapter of the American Gourd Society. Membership organization with newsletter, classes, growing, harvesting and marketing information.

Lake Country Basket Guild (USA-WI)
Membership organization in Wisconsin that meets monthly, offers a quarterly newsletter and an annual Basket Fest.

Land of Lincoln Basketweavers Association (USA-IL)
Group plans four meetings a year around the state of Illinois. Quarterly newsletter and an annual event Tuck a Basket.

Lehigh Valley Basket Weavers (USA-PA)
Group in the Lehigh Valley area of Pennsylvania that meets regularly for basket weaving sessions.

Lexington Arts and Crafts Society, Inc. (USA-MA)
Lexington, Massachusetts. One of the nine guilds in the society is basketry. Each guild has its own schedule of exhibits, meetings, workshops, classes and seminars.

Long Island Basketmakers Guild (USA-NY)
Group from Long Island, New York.Always interested in meeting new potential members. Monthly meetings and bi-monthly newsletter.

Los Angeles Basketry Guild (USA-CA)
Originated by Judy Mulford in 1985 to serve the interests of basketmakers in the Los Angeles, California area. Meetings are held in April and October at the Los Angeles Museum of History.
