Master Weavers of the Maliseet, Micmac, Passamaquoddy and Penobscot have joined together
to protect the traditions of Maine Wabanaki basketry. They participate in an annual Native
American Festival.

Founded in 2001 to preserve and promote traditional white oak woodsplint basket
making of the south central Kentucky region.
Mid
Atlantic Fiber Association
Organization of fiber artists in the mid-Atlantic US states. Hosts a regional
conference on alternate years.
Midwest Basket Guild (USA-IA,IL,WI)
Midwest Basket Guild was founded in 1998 as The Iowa
Basketmakers Guild. Their mission is to foster appreciation for traditional
American basketry. The guild serves the Tri-state area of Iowa, Illinois
& Wisconsin. Members gather monthly to share ideas and maintain interest in
the craft. Together they pursue opportunities to educate and to promote basketry
in the community.
Misti
Washington Gourd and Basketry Guild (USA-CA)
MWGBG meets / eats / weaves from noon to 3:30 on the first Sunday of every month (bring a potluck dish to share) in the Ecke Building at San Diego Botanic Garden (formally called Quail Botanical Gardens), Encinitas, California.
National
Basketry Organization (USA)
National membership organization dedicated to basketry. Publishes a newsletter
and hosts periodic conferences, along with other activities.
Natural
Fibers Group
The group focuses on exploring natural fibers, including collecting responsibly
in the field and garden, processing materials, and creating art work. The
Natural Fibers Group is associated with the Beaufort County Arts Council in
Washington, NC. It is also a North Carolina Basketmakers Association affiliate
guild.
Nebraska
Basket Weavers Guild (USA-NE)
Monthly meetings are held the third Sunday. The Guild sponsors a quarterly newsletter,
directory list, Spring and Fall Weave-Ins.
Northeast
Basketmakers Guild
Membership organization formed to further the art of basketry by nurturing the development
of new basketmakers and both celebrating and supporting accomplished basketmakers.
Draws membership primarily from the Northeast United States, but includes members from
around the world.
North Shore Basket Guild
(USA-MN)
Meets monthly (except June, July and August) in Duluth, Minnesota. Hosts
basketry workshops and special events regularly.
Ohio
Valley Basketweavers Guild (USA-OH)
Membership organization open to all of those interested in basket weaving. All
levels of weavers are invited to attend. Meetings are normally held on the third
Thursday of each month.
Oklahoma
Native American Basketweavers (USA-OK)
The purpose of the Oklahoma Native American Basketweavers association is to
preserve, promote and perpetuate traditional basketry and culture of Native
American tribes through educational programs in Oklahoma.
Penn-Jersey Basketmakers Guild (USA-PA/NJ) Membership is open to anyone with an interest in basketry. Nationally
acclaimed instructors conduct workshops throughout the year.
San
Diego Creative Weavers Guild (USA-CA)
Membership organization with regular meetings, quarterly newsletter, various sub-groups,
equipment rentals and library of weaving, spinning and dyeing books.
Shooting Creek Basket Weavers Guild
(USA-NC, GA)
The SCBWG serves the interests of basketmakers in North Georgia and North Carolina. The guild meets every month at the Shooting Creek Community Center in Shooting Creek, North Carolina.
Sandpoint
Fiberarts Guild (USA-ID)
Membership represents a diversity of mediums within fiber work at all levels of experience
from beginner to professional. Monthly meetings the third Tuesday of each month at
the Gardenia Center in Sandpoint, Idaho.

Basket Weavers Association (USA-TX)
The Texas Basket Weavers Association is a non-profit organization
dedicated to the continuation of basket weaving as both a fine craft and
an art form. They offer members events throughout the year including an annual basketry conference
with vendors as well as local, national and even international guest
instructors offering classes for all skill levels.

Gourd Society (USA-TX)
Membership organization. Chapter of The American Gourd Society. Texas
newsletter, The Gourdzette, will keep you informed about gourd happenings in Texas.
Textile Study Group of New
York (USA-NY)
A not-for-profit organization dedicated to promoting a wider appreciation of
fiber art, including basketry. Monthly programs, exhibition opportunities, a
newsletter and a range of other programs are made available primarily in the New
York City area.
Tidewater Basketry Guild (USA-VA)
Organization serving the needs of basketmakers in the southeast area of Virginia. Offers
an annual event, monthly meetings and newsletter.
Tohono O'odham Basketweavers Organization (USA-AZ)
The organization is dedicated to keeping basketry traditions a vital and living
tradition. TOBO sponsors the annual Celebration of
basketweaving: Native American Basketweavers Gathering and Market, works to
preserve access to traditional gathering sites and organize trips to gather
weaving materials.
Triangle
Basket Weavers Guild (USA-NC)

Wildwood Basketry Guild
(USA-OH)
Group meets monthly in Mentor, Ohio. They host Winter Weave every February and
invite guest teachers about 6 to 8 times a year.
Wolf River Basketry Guild (USA-WI)
The Wolf River Basketry Guild was formed in Shawano, Wisconsin, in October 1993 to foster the art of making handmade baskets and promoting this craft in the Northeast Wisconsin area.
Woven Together in
Western Kentucky (USA-KY)
Meets the second Saturday of the month at the Macedonia Baptist Church in
Philpot, Kentucky. Activities include classes, workshops, trips, a dye party and
the Annual Weaver's Retreat in Western Kentucky.
