Basketry Book Review
Woven History: Native American Basketry of the Clark County Historical Museum Edited by: Julie Daly Co-Authors: Mary Dodds Schlick, Arthur Erickson, Mariana Mace and Kaye Van ValkenburgWoven History:
Native American Basketry of the Clark County Historical Museum

Edited by: Julie Daly
Co-Authors: Mary Dodds Schlick, Arthur Erickson, Mariana Mace and Kaye Van Valkenburg

This book features the basket collection of the Clark County Historical Museum. Each chapter features a different area of the collection, with the main focus being West Coast basketry. The Curatorial Committee of Columbia Basin Basketry Guild participated in the project.

The 98 page book includes many full color photographs. The book is available in limited quantities on a first-come basis. You can purchase a copy for yourself by contacting the museum directly at 360-993-5679 or cchm@pacifier.com

For additional information on the book itself or the activities of the guild curatorial committee that led to this book project contact Kaye Van Valkenburg at KayeVanV@aol.com. Hopefully the work of the Columbia Basin Basketry Guild Curatorial Committee can be an inspiration for other like minded groups that will encourage them to volunteer to help research and document the collections of baskets in places like local and regional museums around the world.
