Book Search Strategy #2: Search The Online Auction Houses
Sometimes finding a basketry related book or other publication can be a very difficult thing to do. Often this type of publication is originally self-published or published by a small press. In many cases the book was published in a small run to begin with and fell out of print rapidly. Trying to find some of these books may end up being an elusive search, but if you are patient and persistent you will probably be successful in the end. Let me share with you some of my favorite online book search utilities and other strategies for locating that basketry book that you may have thought you would never find. Online Auction Site Book Searches Online auctions can be a good way to track down elusive basketry book titles. First, you should know if the book is available at a fixed price by using a book search utility. Once you know the going price and how much it would cost for shipping, you can bid intelligently in an online auction. Online auction sites require registration. You should sign up and become familiar with the rules and regulations of any site you choose to use before bidding on that one great title you have been searching for. Your goal may be to get basketry books at bargain prices. Auction sites can be the source of some bargains, but you will want to guard against placing a bid that is higher than you would need to pay from a dealer who offers the same book at a fixed price.
