Well, the time is here
for mulled cider and candy corn. Wouldn't it be great fun to weave a basket to decorate
your home for the season? I have searched the pattern sites for designs that have a fall
or Halloween theme and I will share them with you now.
Jordan's
Jack-o-Lantern by Jodi Shebester is available on BasketPatterns.com. It is a pumpkin
shaped basket for your little trick or treater and features a spiral base, fixed handle,
orange weavers and a facial caricature of reed embellishment. Another harvest
basket pattern is Sharon Klusmann's
Market Basket. Try this
Indian corn pottery tie-on, also from BasketPatterns.com to embellish your
fall theme baskets.
From Willowe's Basketry comes
autumn colored leaves painted onto the wooden
tie-ons like autumn leaves, pumpkins, candy corn and ghosts that can be applied as an embellishment to
any basket's side.
Wired leather leaves from Homestead Heirlooms are another seasonal touch for
your basket projects.
Rusty
Country D Handles with Ghost/Jack/Cat or Witch/Bat/Jack from The Loft may be
just the seasonal touch your Halloween baskets need.
Susan Reed-Fanfoni has authored a
pattern for a Primitive
Seasonal Door Basket which includes a pumpkin patch option. It is also available from
basketpatterns.com. Another door
basket, this time a free Fall craft pattern, is offered by The Country Seat.

Another Fall themed basket is East Troy Basketry's Linde's Pumpkin Pie Basket. This
basket is woven of flat and round reed in subtle Fall colors in a shape that will allow
you to comfortably and safely carry your pie to grandma's. Rhonda Krula offers a
free basket pattern for a Fall
Door Basket on the Country Seat site. Use a
mini basket to create a
Black
Cat Nut Cup or stitch a
Bat
Basket using plastic canvas with a free pattern from Gramma Lowe.
Kathi Farrington of
Blueberry Ridge offers a free basket pattern for an oval
Halloween basket. This piece features a swing handle and harvest colors. It
would make a great basket to serve Halloween candy to your Trick or Treaters.
This dainty
Pumpkin Crochet Basket Jack 'o lantern would be fun to stitch up for your
Halloween festivities or choose one
a bit larger.
Learn to carve a
Jack-o-lantern out of a hard shelled gourd with this pattern and
instructions from Baskets of Joy. Get the kids together and make a
molded paper pumpkin basket with this free craft activity pattern.
This is one of my favorite Halloween
ideas. Create a sunflower basket carved from a fresh pumpkin and filled with bright,
cheerful sunflowers. What a great idea to use for a centerpiece at a fall gathering or
guild meeting. Use the instructions from Martha Stewart to carve your
pumpkin basket.
Well, roll up your sleeves and get
weaving. The ghosts and goblins will be at your door before you know it. I'll look forward
to meeting with you in the chat room or contact me.
